WHAT IS FLUGTAG?
Flugtag, which means "flying day" in German, is a contest that dares the brave and the brainy to design, build and pilot their homemade flying machines off a 22-foot high ramp and soar high above the city's bay, ocean or river -- or, as is more often the case, plunge into the waters below.
Since the first Red Bull Flugtag took place in Vienna, Austria, in 1991, more than 40 Flugtags have been held around the globe, attracting up to 300,000 spectators for a single event. The record for the farthest flight-to-date currently stands at 195 feet and was set at Red Bull Flugtag Austria in 2000. A new U.S. record was set just last year at Red Bull Flugtag Nashville with a flight of 155 feet!

The Winter X Games are held in January or February in Aspen, CO and the Summer X Games are usually held in August in Los Angeles, CA. Participants compete to win prize money as well as bronze, silver and gold medals.
2008 Summer Sports included:
Freestyle BMX , Vert , Park , Big Air , Street , SuperPark , MotoX , Best Trick , Speed & Style , Step Up , Supermoto, Supercross , Skateboarding , SuperPark, and Rallying.
Brown United supplies a variety of structures for both the (recently completed) 2008 Summer andUpcoming Winter X-Games, including Bridges, Ramps, Barricades, Trusses, Scaffolds and Bleachers.
The X Games also has international competitions and demos around the world that are held at varying times throughout the year. The games are shown live on ESPN and ABC television.

Billy Joel Shea Stadium - Concert Roofing and Staging, Spot Delay Towers
Billy Joel performed "The Last Play at Shea," the final concert at the historic stadium, on July 16, 2008. He played Yankee Stadium and Giants Stadium in 1991 and will be the only artist to ever perform at all three New York-area ballparks. Joel said playing Shea was important to him because he remembers the impact that The Beatles' playing there in 1965 had on him. "They're the reason I do what I do," he said. "This is something I never even dreamed of back in the day".
